High School Power Combine presented by Braxton Co. High

Welcome to the premier strength and power combine in the Appalachian region. This groundbreaking event gives athletes from all over West Virginia and bordering states the opportunity put their physical abilities on display in a manner that is not offered by conventional combines. A handful of very different tests of strength will be contested, challenging these young men and women statically and dynamically, and testing strength of willpower in the process.

Location- Braxton County High, 200 Jerry Burton Dr, Sutton, WV 26601
Weigh-ins- 8am Saturday morning of the competition. Scale closes at 9am.
Rules/Safety Briefing- 11:00am. This meeting is mandatory.

Weight Classes-
Women’s LW 0-120, 121-140, MW 141-160, 161-180, HW 181-200, 201+
Men’s Open LW 0-150 & 151-175, MW 176-200, 201-231, HW 232-265, 266-300, 301+
Consolidation of some classes is possible. Each division must have at least 5 competitors to avoid consolidation
Awards- Individual awards and a Traveling School/Team Trophy tradition will begin this year

Max Bench Press
- Rising Bar format – weight goes up in predetermined increments. 3 attempts.
- 60sec from the time you are called up to produce a lift. BE READY for your turn; have your gear on.
- If there are less than 3 people to go between you and your next lift, you will be given an extra 60sec to rest
- Butt must stay on bench during lift
- Feet must stay on floor.
- Grip must not be wider than rings on bar
- 3 commands athlete must obey: start, press, rack. Start means lower the bar to the chest, Press means push it up, Rack means put it back on the rack
- Yes this means the bar must stop on the chest. Any downward movement after the Press command disqualifies the lift.
- Full lockout must be achieved.
Deep Waters Hercules Hold
- Athletes will hold as long as possible; longest time wins.
- No grip aids allowed.

Mystery Deadlift
- 60sec to lift as many reps as possible
- You’ll be lifting something really cool… let the speculation begin!
- Must wait for down signal on each lift.
- To get a down signal, knees, back, and hips must be extended, and control of lift made clear to judge
Carry Medley
- 60sec to complete the course
- 2 objects, a Mouser Block and an Atlas Stone, must be carried down the course in the order given
- Fastest time to completion wins, if not finished, credit will be given for distance
- 60ft course
Log Press for Reps
- 60 sec , most reps wins
- Light option log and heavy option log. Any reps on the heavy log beats any reps on the light log
- Clean once, and press away
- Log must not be dropped or athlete risks disqualification
- Must wait for down signal on each rep.
- To get down signal, elbows must be extended; feet within shoulder width, motionless, and not staggered; object motionless overhead; posture upright; knees extended
Team Truck Pull
- This is for Team/School scoring only
- Must have at least 5 people for this to count towards Team/School scoring, one must be female
- 75ft course, fastest time wins. If not finished, distance will be credited
- Athletes will pull in unison on a rope attached to the truck/trucks
General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff
- In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete head to head in a
- Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
- There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
- This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up.
- If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.

In consideration of your acceptance of this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, and my assignees, waive, and release all rights and damages I may have against Paul Mouser, Braxton High School, Shane Oney, Keith Green, The City of Sutton, Braxton County, and all sponsors of the event, their representatives and assigns, for any and all injuries incurred by me in conjunction with this competition and in traveling to and from the event. And in further consideration of permission being granted to me to participate in the WV High School Championships and its related events, I hereby grant Paul Mouser and/or any other approved video or entertainment organization and all of their agents, successors, licensees, and assigns, the right to photograph or otherwise reproduce (whether by film, tape, still photography or otherwise) my voice, appearance, and name, and to exhibit, distribute, transmit, and/or otherwise exploit any and all media, including without limitation, by means of still photography, motion pictures, radio, television, television motion pictures, video, printing or any other medium now known or hereafter devised, including with respect also to any merchandising, advertising, and/or publicity, and the right to use my name and information about me in any connection with any of the foregoing. The rights granted by me hereunder are granted for the entire universe and shall endure in perpetuity and no further compensation shall be payable to me at anytime in connection therewith. Nothing contained herein shall be deemed to obligate Paul Mouser and/or any other approved video or entertainment organization, to photograph or otherwise reproduce my voice, appearance or name, or to make use of any rights granted herein.
