Records

Welcome to the West Virginia Strongman/Strongwoman State Records page. The men and women named here are recognized as having the best performance in the listed events in state history. They earned these records the hard way: these lifts were performed in contest or at a scheduled public exhibition, with the Strongman Corp state chairman’s approval, with equipment that is often known to be more brutal than what is considered standard, and often in adverse conditions since we mountain folk like to play outside. Some of these records were set years ago, and have not been contested since because the event may not have been offered again yet. With the strongman sport now exploding in WV, and contests popping up everywhere, these records will likely all soon be threatened. For now, enjoy looking over this list of pioneers in WV strength sports (yes pioneers as many had never touched a log, axle, or atlas stone before they signed up for their first contest!) , and start making plans for your own assault on these records.
