Stone to Shoulder

  • 60sec to get as many reps as possible
  • Athlete will have 2 stones to choose from, one heavy and one ridiculously heavy
  • Most reps wins, however, anyone who achieves any number of reps on the heavier stone automatically places ahead of anyone who achieved no reps on the heavier stone.
  • Any athlete wishing to attempt the heavier option stone must do so prior to attempting the lighter stone. Once you have attempted the lighter stone, you may not “move up” or “move back” to the heavier stone. Do the big one first if you’re gonna do it – it’s not that complicated yall!
  • Sleeves (with no buckling or fastening mechanisms), wrist wraps, chalk, and one belt allowed. No gloves, no tacky, no sticky stuff of any kind. Complaint letters can be sent to my address but envelopes must be sealed with your tears so I can taste them while I laugh like an evil cartoon villain.

Timber Wagon Deadlift

  • 60sec to complete as many reps as possible on a wagon loaded with logs in a “descending” format. This means mats are removed from under the legs of the wagon during each rep, causing it to get lower, and lower, and lower. Must wait for “down” command.
  • Once the lowest setting is reached, athletes may rep out… if able
  • This will be parallel handles, and the first pull will be about 18in, with each successive pull getting an inch or two lower.
  • Sleeves, one belt, and normal straps legal. No suits, cranes, forklifts, or hydraulic floor jacks.

Max Log

  • 30sec per attempt. WV state records up for grabs.
  • 3 attempt selections, however if you miss on any given weight, you’re out
  • You may skip any increments you choose
  • 4th attempts will only be allowed if doing so would exceed a current WV state record and if you are among the last couple folks left in the rotation
  • Must wait for down command upon completion of lift.
  • To receive down command, knees, hips, elbows must be extended with log overhead and steady. Feet must within shoulder width, stationary, and in a non-staggered stance.
  • Log must be lowered to chest first, then controlled to the ground. These are actual real logs that used to be trees folks, if you toss them like a moron they will break and you may be ejected from the contest.
  • Sleeves (with no buckling or fastening mechanisms), one belt, and wrist wraps allowed.

Truck Pull ***CANCELLED DUE TO VENUE CHANGE – SEE “HERCULES HOLD” BELOW AS REPLACEMENT

  • 60sec, fastest time wins, if you do not finish you will be credited with distance.
  • Harness and hand rope style
  • Everyone will use the same harness. Please do not pester me about using your own harness. I won’t budge. In 9 years, probably 14 contests, and countless training sessions with 110 pound ladies all the way up to 400+lb men, no one has ever “come out” of the harness in mid-pull. The only way to accomplish that would be to literally stop pulling and move backward to create slack while letting your arms hang down to the side and slumping your shoulders. If you do that, you didn’t want to win anyway.
  • Fastest time wins. Weight will be added to pick up and roll back as needed.
  • You may assign your own “rope handler” if you wish, if not, one will be provided for you

Hercules Hold

  • Hold on for dear life, longest time wins!
  • No tape, sticky substances of any kind, wrist wraps or straps of any kind are permitted
  • Must grab handle by the center revolving portion.
  • Time starts when “release” command is given to the spotters to release the full pressure of the apparatus. This command will not be given until the competitor’s arms are fully extended as to prevent any undue jerking on the athlete (hehehehe, “jerking”).
  • No hair-brained shenanigans allowed. Examples include pulling the pillars inward somehow or whatever wacky crap people are willing to try when they aren’t strong enough to win in the correct fashion.
  • Time stops when either side of the apparatus touches the ground (so stand in the middle for God’s sake some of yall try to stand 18in off to one side and then if you so much as fart the wrong way the weight touches). Any part of the athlete touching the ground other than the athlete’s feet would also end the time, simply because… well, because what the hell guys?
  • Yes chalk is fine. That is not “sticky”. You’re welcome.

Mouser Block Carry, Max Distance

  • Athlete will have 30 sec to pick the Mouser Block from the ground and cross the start line
  • Once the start line is crossed, there will be no time limit – furthest distance wins
  • Any distance under 10 feet is considered a “zero”
  • There is a light option and heavy option. You pick one prior to starting. Any distance (over 10ft) with the heavy Block automatically beats any distance with the lighter Block. Choose wisely.
  • Athlete may readjust during the carry, however the athlete’s turn will be over whenever the block itself or any part of the athlete other than the feet touch the ground. Athlete may not stop moving forward for more than 3 seconds or the athlete’s turn will be over.
  • One belt (with buckle to the side or back please) may be worn, neoprene sleeves and wrist wraps are OK.
  • No rubberized shirts, no gloves, no spray tacky, no tacky towels, no tacky anything, no rubber gauntlets.
  • Hands and chests will be inspected for sticky stuff prior to your turn.
  • No whining about equipment and sticky stuff being banned. Everyone is under the same rules so it’s fair and the strongest person will win. Whining results in a 10ft penalty on distance!
  • Mouser Block available at www.mouserpower.com/mouser-block/

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, a tie breaker event will be held. No countback absolutely necessary!
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up.
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
